Qu Jing is a non-descript city in the east of Yunnan Province, though not without charm; its city-centre parks are particularly smart. Not many western tourists to be seen, which meant I was regularly being asked to pose with strangers; we were seeing 'family', hence the visit. Of interest is the taxi. Unlike other Chinese cities, which generally operate rancid VW Jettas or toytown corollas, Qu Jing has a fleet of brand new, spotless Kias that were almost 'pleasant' to ride in were it not for the loony behind the wheel. I doubt they'll remain in this condition for too long.
