The kartik purnima festival in Odisha of India

It is an auspicious day in the Hindu calender. Miniature boats made of paper, banana tree stems and cardboard are worshipped and allowed to flow into water bodies. The festival enacts old history of the state when people would travel to farther foreign countries for trade in ships.
