It's a Competitive Business

This display at the Prohibition Museum in Savannah illustrates some of the unintended consequences of prohibition. Gangsters ruled the streets of many American cities, most notably Chicago, and often settled their disputes violently. The roaring 20's often roared to the sound of machine gun fire. During prohibition the federal government increased its law enforcement capabilities many times over, of necessity.

The car in the scene is an antique Packard, well restored. The "victims" in this grisly scene are, of course, manicans.
