Current Perry LA Post Office
From Abbeville, we drove the 4 miles out to Perry to see if we could locate the site of the Post Office where my Great Aunt Daisy Stansbury was postmistress in the thirties and forties. We found the current Post Office, and were greeted by a very congenial Postmaster. He promptly called a retired postmistress who he thought had probably served immediately after Aunt Daisy. She gave us some information on the phone and was sorry to learn that we couldn't stay around Perry for more details.
