green wave

this has been a very challenging shot for me. i've been trying to take it several times over the past few months.

 

it is the underside of a bridge. if i take the photo from outside the bridge, then the front most part is too bright compared to the underneath part. also, light leaks in under the bridge from the other side. if i go under the bridge to get a better angle, then it is too dark and i get purple flares in the image. so i have to kind of go half way in and half way out. a balancing act, and yet still, i cannot get the lighting quite right. i did put my camera on a tripod and delayed the shutter, and it helped, but still can't quite get the exposure right.

 

i've tried morning, afternoon, evening. nuthin. maybe i will have to wait for winter, when the Sun will be lower in the sky.

 

i wish i could get the Sun to come around behind my back...hey Sun, could you move over there? a little bit more to the left. okay, right there. this won't take long. thanks.
