Returning from Proex Carlisle-Swanson Drive Batavia IL
BNSF has heavy power to pull a single empty, covered hopper from the Proex Carlisle plant at the end of this long lead in Batavia. From talking to a BNSF crew member a few years ago the Proex Carlisle plant either closed then reopened or stopped using rail service for a while then resumed it. Proex Carlisle is the only customer using rail service on this lead though there are other, unused spurs coming off this line like the ones in the foreground.
The three engines on this job are unusual, normally just two work come up from Aurora on this historic CB&Q. It once connected with the C&NW in West Chicago but now just services the two Suncast plants in Batavia plus Proex Carlisle,
