Loading Platform Rangely Lake ME June 1987
My notes say this picture was taken in Rangeley, ME, which was served by the two-foot, narrow gauge Sandy River & Rangely Lakes Railroad which was abandoned in 1932. It terminated on Depot Street and there is an open area looking at historic maps that correspond to this site in the 1980s. Yet these trails look more standard gauge than narrow gauge. Can someone familiar with NH and ME railroads correct me if I am wrong on the location?
Scans from almost four decade old negatives I rediscovered, scanned, and cleaned up in Photoshop Elements as much as possible.
