Kodak Tourist Universal Back (2)

The Complete Kit. This is what you need to make this very versatile system work completely. The camera is shown with the back mounted, and the normal back in the foreground right. You will see that the viewfinder mask for 6x6 has been fitted over the normal viewfinder window, and although not visible, the filmgate for 6x6 has also been fitted.

The filmgates for 6x4.5 and 828 are leaning against the box, with their viewfinder masks. In front are the two adaptors which allowed 828 film to be used in these cameras, one of which is fitted with a take-up spool. The whole shooting match was held in the nice little velvet case on top of the box, although I suspect it would give little protection to rough handling.

828 film disappeared years ago, but in fact, is un-perforated 35mm film, so I suppose it would be possible to cobble up some backing paper, fit the film in it, and give it a whirl, but probably not worth the effort! The 828 option was there of course, because it gave the owner the chance to use Kodachrome colour slide film, not available in 620 format.
