Believer In Yeshua
Peter's House, Capernaum
When excavators came upon a typical Queen Helena octagonal church they knew they had found a site that she thought held particular significance. Below Helena's church they found an insula, consisting of several small roofed rooms clustered around a large open courtyard. Such "insula" were typical of homes in Capernaum. THis home seems to have been used very early after Yeshua's death & resurrection as a meeting place for early believers. Of course, to Roman Catholics this meant it had to be the Apostle Peter's house. However, the Gospels make it clear that Yeshua had a house in Capernaum; see Mt.9:1 & Mk 2:1. I would therefore suggest this was Yeshua's own home.
