October 7 ️💔
For some unexplained reason last year I have decided on October 6th that I want to start sharing my photography on Flickr instead of Instagram. Up to that point I have never used Flickr for anything else but as storage for my knitting related images and have not interacted with other users here or even looked what is Flickr really about. In fact, before October 6th, last time I was on Flickr was in 2018. And then October 7th happened and Flickr, and photography in general really, became the almost perfect escape from the horrific events and all the hatred and antisemitism that followed. I say almost perfect, because even Flickr is not completely antisemitism free. I have uploaded my first photo image that I meant to share on October 7th and started my journey here.
I have been to many rallies and events this past year. I usually do not post anything about this here and lots on Instagram, but today I felt I must make a post on Flickr too. This particular image was taken with my Helios 44-2 at the Empty Shabbat Table event to honor the hostages.

‘We Remember Them’ by Sylvan Kamens & Rabbi Jack Riemer
At the rising sun and at its going down; We remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter; We remember them.
At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring; We remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer; We remember them.
At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of the autumn; We remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends; We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a part of us as We remember them.
When we are weary and in need of strength; We remember them.
When we are lost and sick at heart; We remember them.
When we have decisions that are difficult to make; We remember them.
When we have joy we crave to share; We remember them.
When we have achievements that are based on theirs; We remember them.
For as long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a part of us as, We remember them.
