Kona Solid Challenge Darks Front

Our Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild gave each member a pack of Kona solids in the dark range, with the challenge to use every colour. I wanted to use them for two dresden blocks in Lily's Quiltalong but the darks seemed too flat when put in the circles. I played around with the two tone blades and trimmed them to make rectangles/parallelegrams and lined them up - worked out better Our local Quilt shop has every colour of Kona and I auditioned every colour, finally settling on sage for the background. I used the tiny bits left over for the multicolured binding. The stippling worked out well this time - I really am pleased with how this turned out even though it was not what I started.
