Cristina Iglesias ( ° San Sebastian 1956 ) is an established Spanish sculptor and graphic artist. Her works reflect an aesthetic vocabulary based on the use of different materials (concrete, alabaster, resin, iron, glass ), sometimes combined with plant motifs such as bamboo and litter, and different techniques (bas-relief, tapestry or large format screen printing, silk and copper) The contrast of textures and materials, and the relationship they establish with the space, are two of the constants of her work. This work, called “ Deep Foutain”, is placed in front of the Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp. The constant rising and flow back of the water, makes this work of art a very dynamic installation in constant change.

Haar werk toont een vormentaal gebaseerd op het gebruik van diverse materialen zoals beton, albast,harsen,ijzer en glas. Soms – zoals in dit kunstwerk – werkt zij met plantenmotieven zoals bamboe en stro. Ze wendt ook zeer verschillende technieken aan: bas-reliëfs, tapijten, groot formaat zeefdruk, zijde en koper. Het contrast tussen texturen en materialen en de relatie die zij aangaan met de ruimte, zijn constanten in haar werk. Dit werk bevindt zich voor het Museum van Schone Kunsten in Antwerpen. Het constante rijzen en wegebben van het water, maakt dit tot een zeer dynamische installatie waarbij telkens nieuwe aspecten van het werk worden onthuld.
