Helen Bur ( ° 1990 ) is a versatile British artist. She embraces the role and ability of painting to tell a contemporary story. Painted figures, caught in moments of silent action, busy trying to achieve something or frozen in the middle of a curious event, anxious, uncanny. Sensitive and poetic narratives are used as tools to dissect and understand experiences, where the personal often becomes global. This work is a portrait of Arno, who died on 23 April 2022. It is a dreamy image full of emotion of an icon of the Belgian rock world.
This work was created as part of the Crystal Ship arts festival in Ostend, which each year - since 2016 - tackles a number of walls or facades.

Helen Bur ( ° 1990 ) is een veelzijdige Britse kunstenares. Zij omarmt de rol en het vermogen van schilderwerk om een hedendaags verhaal te vertellen. Geschilderde figuren, gevangen in momenten van stille actie, druk in een poging om iets te bereiken of bevroren in het midden van een merkwaardig gebeuren, bezorgd, unheimisch. Gevoelige en poëtische verhalen worden gebruikt als instrumenten om ervaringen te ontleden en te begrijpen, waarbij het persoonlijke vaak wereldomvattend wordt. Dit werk is een portret van Arno, die op 23 april 2022 overleed. Het is een dromerig beeld vol emotie van een icoon van de Belgische rockwereld.
Dit werk is gerealiseerd in het kader van het Crystal Ship kunstenfestival in Oostende, waarbij elk jaar – sinds 2016 – een aantal muren of gevels worden aangepakt.
