Jacques Moeschal - Stele Corten
Knight Jacques Moeschal ( Uccle, 1913 - Auderghem 2004 ) was a Belgian architect and sculptor. Moeschal's architectural works - often for projects by his colleagues - are inspired by progress and technology. The sculptures of aluminium, steel and concrete are often monumental geometric-abstract beacons along roads and in the landscape. Perhaps his best-known work - in collaboration with his colleagues J. Van Doorselaer and A. Padouari - is "The Arrow" ( www.worldfairs.info/bruxelles1958/pavillons/geniecivil.jpg ) of the Pavilion of Civil Engineering at the World Exhibition in Brussels in 1958. He carefully integrated his works into the surrounding environment, taking into account the place, the natural and architectural context and the purpose of the work. Although he created works with abstract geometric forms, in some respects he remained close to nature, reappropriating and reinterpreting the form of a branch or a flower crown.

Jacques ridder Moeschal ( Ukkel, 1913 – Oudergem 2004 ) was een Belgisch architect en beeldhouwer. De architectonische werken van Moeschal - vaak ook voor projecten van collega’s - zijn geïnspireerd door vooruitgang en techniek. De sculpturen van aluminium, staal en beton zijn veelal monumentale geometrisch-abstracte bakens langs de weg en in het landschap. Allicht zijn bekendste werk – in samenwerking met zijn collega’s J. Van Doorselaer en A. Padouari – is “De Pijl” ( www.worldfairs.info/bruxelles1958/pavillons/geniecivil.jpg )van het Paviljoen van Burgerlijke Bouwkunde op de wereldtentoonstelling in Brussel in 1958. Hij integreerde zijn werken zorgvuldig in de omringende omgeving, waarbij hij rekening hield met de plaats, de natuurlijke en architecturale context en het doel van het werk. . Hoewel hij werken met abstracte geometrische vormen creëerde, bleef hij in sommige opzichten dicht bij de natuur, door zich de vorm van een tak of een bloemkroon opnieuw toe te eigenen en te interpreteren

Padouari - est sans doute “La Flèche” ( www.worldfairs.info/bruxelles1958/pavillons/geniecivil.jpg ) pour le pavillon du génie civil de l'Exposition universelle de Bruxelles en 1958. Il a soigneusement intégré ses œuvres dans le milieu environnant, en tenant compte du lieu, du contexte naturel et architectural et de la finalité de l'œuvre. Bien qu'il ait créé des œuvres aux formes géométriques abstraites, il est resté proche de la nature à certains égards, se réappropriant et réinterprétant la forme d'une branche ou d'une couronne de fleur.
