The Greaves Building

My mulligan, I really wish I had a do-over on this room. We were in such a hurry and I was in stimulation over-load. I did not take the time photographing this room that I wish I would have.

This machine is a sterilizer. In my research, I read that Tranquille acquired a sterilizer in 1950 (probably this machine.) I think this might have been the operating room although it is was fairly small and set in between two other larger rooms that could have been the surgery rooms(the two other rooms were carpeted and untiled but maybe they were renovated at some point.)

In my research, I read that operations such as pneumolysis were performed as treatment for tuberculosis. Once the hospital was converted to an institution for the mentally disabled in the 50's, operations were no longer performed here.
