Say's Phoebe
My friend Danny kindly notified me that this Say's Phoebe had been seen in Ottawa for the past 3 days. It is a first sighting ever for here.
This bird is also a life list addition for me so I was very happy to see it. I saw it briefly for a few seconds shortly after noon time. A number of other birders and photographers had seen it earlier. The bird few off but I and several others decided to stay in case it returned.
The bird was rediscovered about 500 meters away and on the opposite side of a gravel road. It was foraging about 30-40 meters from the road behind a 8 foot chain ink fence. This image is a very big crop but I'm pleased to have my first photos of this species.
