You have to go through the alley to find these historic structures located behind the former police station on 5th Street. According the writeup on surfcitysusa.com, the cells were built in 1914. (Notice that a taller, newer building now rises up right next to these old historic remnants.) Another interesting note is the sign advertising Farley's Expert Locksmith with its pre-area code phone number. That was definitely a later and probably humorous addition; anyone know when?
