Great Blue Heron
Last Fall I had a few opportunities to photograph Great Egrets in flight. I made lots of shots while they flew by and you won't believe how disappointed I was most of those shots turned out to be with their wings up, except may be a couple with the wings partially down. I think the frame rate of my camera was in sync with the egrets' wing flapping frequency.
Since then I'm very aware of this phenomenon :) I'm glad I got this one display his wings in all of their beauty.
