Common Goldeneye (male)
It was cold and windy, but sunny. Lots of gulls were resting on ice and maybe a dozen of Mallards were feeding near the shore. I spotted this pair of Goldeneye... I rarely see these birds and if I see them they don't stay close to the shore. I started to watch them like a hawk :)
Probably the gulls spooked them... I saw both ducks started to run on water in the same direction - the female was a bit ahead of the male, but he was faster and soon he caught up with her, pushed her aside and took off first! She recovered soon and took off also, but she couldn't make it into the frame:)
