Mist rises from a subsidiary peak of Nanga Parbat, Pakistan, at sunrise. The westernmost of the fourteen 8000-metre peaks, and the westernmost massif in the Himalayas, Nanga Parbat is situated beside the confluence of the Indus and Gilgit Rivers, which forms the border between the Himalayas to the east, Karakorams to the north and Hindu Kush to the west.
