In 2011, South Yorkshire Police used 2 ex-demonstrators to help improve the Armed Response fleet. The vehicles allow the teams to access areas that the Volvo V70s don't permit them, and also help maintain the response times in bad conditions such as snow.
Both these BMW X5s are owned by the force now.
