During the Ford contract between 2005-2011, the main beat vehicle was the Ford Focus, however a steady stream of Ford Transit Connects were introduced onto beat duties. Obviously the Ford Focus's had some advantages over these, however one advantage with these vehicles was the introduction of a cage in the back which would mean a full size public order van would not have to attend incidents which would require a prisoner to be transported in a cage to the police station. YJ10FYR is one of the Ford Transit Connects used by the force.
