Normal fault, Abiquiu, New Mexico
This is a fault everyone can see. This normal fault, in the Abiquiu Formation, Plaza Blanca, north of Abiquiu, New Mexico is better cemented than the enclosing strata. The result is a tilted fault-hoodoo (the cemented fault plane protects the volcaniclastic strata below from ongoing erosion). View to the east.
