Aer Lingus Boeing 737-548 EI-BXE

30th October 1990., Dublin Airport, Ireland

I took this picture, on 30/10/90 the day Aer Lingus accepted delivery of B737-500 EI-BXE at Dublin Airport. I believe that the Irish carrier became the first to operate the Boeing 737-300, -400 & 500 series at the same time.

To mark the occasion, Aer Lingus had the newly delivered B737-500 (EI-BXE) nearest to camera lined up with a B737-300 (EI-BUD) and a -400 series model furthest from camera

EI-BXE was subsequently registered EI-CDA on 26/6/91. It ended its days flying with AeroSvit of Ukraine and was wfu in Oct 2012

EI-BUD was sold to Spanish carrier Viva Air in October 1992 and is believed to be still flying today (5/15) with Thai Express Air and is registered HS-EXA
