Abergynolwyn

The former eastern terminus of the Talyllyn Railway. Originally a narrow gauge railway to transport slate, it was taken over by volunteers in 1951, becoming the world’s first preserved railway. The line was extended further east to Nant Gwernol along an old quarry railway in 1976.
