Nant Gwernol
Eastern terminus of the Talyllyn Railway. Originally a narrow gauge railway to transport slate, it was taken over by volunteers in 1951, becoming the world’s first preserved railway. However, it was only extended to Nant Gwernol along an old quarry railway in 1976.
