Shrewsbury Abbey 3

Platform of the former terminus of the line to Llanymynech. This eccentric line began as a grandiose project for a rail link between the Potteries and Ireland, but went bankrupt and was taken over by that famous champion of lost causes, Colonel Stephens. Closed to passengers in 1933, the station became derelict but was saved from demolition by a heritage trust.
