Stack of Plates

High-precipitation supercell bowing out; note the "stack of plates" appearance. This storm formed over northwestern Maine along a pre-frontal disturbance. Wind fields were sufficient for tornadic storms, and many did form across interior New England. This was one of the stronger storms, cutting into unseasonably warm and unstable air as it steamrolled across western New Brunswick in less than one hour.
