AN ENCOUNTER OF THE DEER KIND

by Nuthatch in VA

It was during an early morning walk along the trail that we first encountered a doe grazing along the Run. We walked on watching as she walked under cover of the brush parallel to us. Then we noticed a fawn across the the next crossing. It watched us and seemed comfortable with my taking pictures. The fawn seemed to be watching for something and out popped the doe heading for the Run. She watched us as she stepped to the bank and then into the Run which she eventually crossed. The fawn watched and soon we saw a buck in the background. It was such a peaceful scene that I couldnt' decide when looking at these pictures, which I would share with Flickr. So please enjoy our encounter. These were shot over a period of 1/2 hour from first sighting to last.
