aBF Day 404

Really? Another two flat tires for Aaron? Is this kid carrying the anti-rabbit's foot? After a late start out of Talladega, we were waylaid again by a friendly bike shop owner at Fun Wheels in Oxford, AL. After an hour and a half, Jimmy sent us off with spare bike tubes and a few other needed supplies. I was antsy to get on the road, with many miles still to bike to Adam's home east of Atlanta before dark tomorrow.

We finally made it to the beautifully paved and blissfully shaded Chief Ladiga trail, logging a solid 56 miles today before pitching our tents in the beautiful -- but after nightfall, spookily secluded -- Chief Ladiga Campground. It was still under construction and there were no showers. So while Aaron got the tents set up and rummaged around the food bags for dinner ingredients, I tried not to think about water moccasins and took a bath in the river. I felt like a regular Pioneer. (Real pioneers probably didn't complain about bugbites as much as I do, though.)
