January 2016 photo collage

January. The Holidays are over. We did a lot of moving without going anywhere. We packed up everything and moved it into storage so that our squeaky floors could be un-squeaked for our new (and very nice) downstairs neighbor. We stayed at “Camp David” ( thanks, Dave!) No computer. Limited outings. Cloudy skies. RAIN. This will be an unforgettable January.

W9 and I did our best to find the Goldeneye in Ballona. We scored the sweet faced Mew Gull (top left) instead. We galumphed around Madrona Marsh and received a tip: Eurasian Wigeon (middle-ish in the collage with a bunch of ducks) floating on the newly wet again marsh. We were shoulder to shoulder with the spectrum of birders/twitchers/photographers. All geeks of a feather and we were flocking together.

OK. I went a little nuts with the “vivid”setting on the camera. The Fox Sparrow ( 4th photo on left side) has never appeared so colorful. Trickery. But Nat Geo approved.

Frau Bee (bottom row) is making her way to the top of the Overlook where she would see Los Angeles with snowcapped mountains in the background.

January has been a little cold and cloudy. A bit stressful. A lot stressful. Flip that card over and you get friendship …camaraderie…. adventure…discovery…an early Spring Cleaning?

Thank you, my flickr friends. Your photos spark ideas and inspiration. Thank you for taking the time to view, comment, and fav my photos too.
