The Weight
I know the broken promises best,
But have no idea how to fix them.
And these little lies that I created for you,
Have grown fat and greedy,
And now they've turned on me!
Suddenly I am begging for truth,
In the bathroom
On my knees
Crying for mercy.
But the truth can't hear lies
And God will only play the fool
Once or twice.
The ants must think it's raining
Salt upon the earth,
I know I do.
