lindad4a says: The arrival of the fire engines was not an uncommon occurrence! There always seemed to be an ultra sensitive smoke alarm going off somewhere and, as the alarm went straight through the fire station, we would all end up out on the street whilst the fireman checked out whichever toaster had set off the alarm!

lindad4a says: I've always loved the Post Office Tower as some of us still call it, and one of the best things about working at UCL was that I got to see it everday. This was pretty much the view from my office which was in the building on the right.
