Thinker

What I Like About This Image: Honestly, I don't really know. Something about this woman's pose and the flower bushes behind her just caught my eye, but it's not really anything that I can put my finger on. As an engineer, I don't often have an aesthetic intuition - I tend to over-think things - but in this case I think that it worked.

The Bad: There were a lot of people around, so this is the least obstructed image. In cropping, I basically had to decide whether to eliminate the shoulder in the foreground or to put the figure where I wanted in the image. The background could stand to be lighter, I think, as well.

The Good: I like the composition of this a lot. The floor creates a bit of a foreground, the subject is in the mid-ground, and the flowers are a nice background. The opening at the top of the image also goes way back, that gives it a greater depth of field. The lines are very clear, and the subject is at the intersection of the floor line and the flower box line, which draws the eye nicely. There is a progression as well from light to dark both bottom to top and foreground to background.
