The Pie Shop
Formerly Mitchell’s Bakery, Oakfield Road, Anfield.
Earmarked for demolition the shop closed shop after 85 years of providing fresh bread, cakes, and pies to the community and football fans on LFC match days. It was temporarily saved from the bulldozer in 2011 when it became part of an art project called the 2Up 2Down initiative backed by Liverpool City Council and Arena Housing. Now the bakery, along with the row of terraced houses, seems likely to have a future if all goes well.
