Photographin' haystacks in a field....

This evening I was on my way home from work after a long day at the office. On my drive home I spotted a field of haystacks...I decided to grab my camera and return to photograph them. It was a nice evening and I parked my car on the gravel off the busy road. I took out my camera bag and put it on my back and started to walk along the gravel path by the field. Moments later a minivan pulled up and signalled off on to the gravel and the window rolled down. It was an elderly gentleman and passenger. "Is everything alright, do you need help" he asked. I thanked him for his thoughtfulness and told him I was going to photograph haystacks...he rejoined heartily..."gosh if I'd have known I'd have brought my camera too". They left and I went on to photograph my simple haystacks. I was touched that in a world where we think that people don't care, and don't stop to help strangers, that two people had reached out and made the offer. It's important to remember acts like this...sometimes we focus on the bad news...bottom line...there's a lot of great people out there :)
