Stars (Modern Version) - Get Pushed!! Round 20
This round my partner was the lovely and very talented Patti-Jo. She has a beautiful colourful stream, so go and have a look!
And this was her challenge to me:
Some of your images (particularly the pastorals) reminded me in a way of the works of artist Maxfield Parrish for their colorful, luminous qualities. Do an image search for the artist and choose any piece/s of his art and create an original interpretation of it/them in your photographic image. You may composite layers, and do whatever you want. The important thing is, make it a push for yourself in some way and be sure to capture the artist's essence in the color (preferably his distinct blues) and the mood.
I googled Mr Parrish and found that I actually know some of his art work. And now I know the artist. Thanks Patti-Jo!
This was a challenge that got my creative juices flowing (;-)) and I had some neat ideas in my head. So I went out in search for something special, only to come back with some not so special shots, at least not in my opinion. So I went back to basics and created a modern version of Maxfield Parrish's "Stars", a favourite of mine. I replaced the stones ("Girls on the Rocks") with my white plastic chair, kept my clothes on and added a moon.
Several photos (moon, stars, selfie) and textures by Mayang Adnin and Will Smith, Zen and myself and layers and...And I'm happy with the result. Hope you like it Patti-Jo!?
Enjoy!

TotW: "Defiance"
ODC: "Mono(tone)")
And for those who want to know more and see my inspiration: Maxfield Parrish.
