Statue érigée le 30 mai 1909 à la mémoire de Philibert Berthelier, condamné à mort après avoir été accusé à tort d'avoir trempé dans un complot contre l'évêque de Genève. Elle se trouve devant la Tour de l'Ile, dernier vestige du château médiéval au pied duquel il a été décapité en 1519.

Last remain of the Castle of the Island, we see on this picture the Tower of the same name. The statue - erected in 1909 - shows Philibert Berthelier. This Swiss patriot was beheaded in 1519 in front of the castle . He was accused to have comploted to kill the bishop of Geneva. It is written on the wall: "In memory of Philibert Berthelier, beheaded to have defended the liberty and franchises of his homeland - 1519"
