Lithium & water
Finely divided lithium reacting violently with water. Hydrogen formed ignites together with lithium, burning with brilliant flame and sparks (dangerous). Strongly alkaline lithium hydroxide is formed in solution. Lithium and its salts normally produce carmine red flame, but when lithium metal burns strongly, it is white.
