King Farouk's rest house
At the foot of the great pyramid stands a deserted building, deprived of its windows and doors, sad in its loneliness, missing its former owner.
That building used to be the rest house of king Farouk, which he visited often at evenings, to play cards and to dwell with friends.
I deal with this photo very often within my PhD thesis. I am supposed to be writing about ancient Egyptian tombs,,,,but each time I look to the photo, I see nothing else except the sad empty house of king Farouk.
Behold, sand is approaching from the north,,,it will probably cover the building soon,,,and what will remain of it is only for future excavators to astonish at: The tale of a(once upon a time) king.
