Life A Constant Struggle
This was at the Chirala Beach, Prakasam District on the East Coast of A.P., India. With the so called Coastal Corridor being developed there, it is expected that most of the fisher folk there will be without proper access to the sea, their main source of livelihood. For young children like this, without proper education, much less modern employable skills, the future would be even bleaker than that of their parents. It is anticipated that about 20 million economic refugees would be the outcome of the creation of the SEZ based coastal corridor. Growth we certainly want; but whenever policy makers and industrialists insist that a particular project is in the "public interest" one needs to ask who are getting screwed.
