Section: Beeston Castle.

The medieval castle of Beeston in Tarporley Cheshire was built during the decade of 1220 by Ranulf de Blondeville, 6th Earl of Chester" (1170–1232). The castle is situated on a rocky summit 500ft above the Cheshire plain, affording magnificent views from the Pennines in the east to the mountains of Wales in the west. The views are well worth the visit and on a clear day you can see eight counties.
