Above the Mason/Dixon line, most people would just snort at this much snow and not even bother to pull out the snow chains.
Say "blizzard" in the Deep South and it sends most southerners into near panic. Grocery stores are emptied of milk, bread and a few other staples before the weatherman is through talking. People are told, again and again, to stay home because the roads are slick and treacherous. Schools are cancelled, meetings are postponed, and, generally, mayhem rules.
