Balancing Act 2.0 by David Antoszyk
This is a self portrait taken using a tripod and a shutter timer. The photo displays the physics concept of center of gravity. The person in this image stands perfectly balanced on a board resting atop a hollow cylinder. By shifting his weight the person is able to align the center of his mass with the vertical axis of the cylinder. Differences in the amount of force applied by the persons feet will upset this systems equilibrium and cause the board move off in one direction. As long as the force applied by each foot is equal the person can remain atop the board.
