All Saints Church, Panxworth, Norfolk
Panxworth church tower was built in the 14th Century. The archway that can be seen in this photo however was built by the Victorians during a 19th Century 'restoration' of the original chancel and nave which had falling into a state of disrepair.
The rebuilding took place in the 1840's but by the 1970s the church was too big for the surrounding population and this church was declared redundant.
The nave and chancel were removed leaving the tower still standing. The tower was struck by lightning during the winter of 2005/6.
