Stony Bridge, Waltham Abbey
The Stony Bridge was constructed c1370 and spans the Cornmill Stream. It is sometimes incorrectly known as Harold's Bridge, however, it was constructed over 300 years after his death. The bridge carried the road from Waltham Grange which was the monastic home farm to other parts of the estate, the mill, the town, and, via the gateway, to the abbey.
