Hemsby Inshore Rescue Service's Herring Festival 2010

Hemsby Lifeboat as they are better known, is a voluntary lifeboat service. They are not part of the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI), nor do they receive any funding from them; they receive no government grants and none of the members receive any remuneration. They depend entirely on donations from the public.

Saving lives at Sea and on the Norfolk Broads they are on call 24 hours per day, 365 days a year to help persons in distress.
