St Mary's Church, Haddiscoe, Suffolk

This church sits high on a hill at the junction of the A143 and the B1136. The distinctive tower can be seen from miles around. I have driven past this church hundreds of times without stopping but today I had some spare minutes!

St Mary's at Haddiscoe was started during the Saxon period with additions and changes made over the next few Centuries. The base of the tower is Saxon, the upper parts are Norman and the chequerboard top part is of 15th Century date.
