One of the school classrooms

In the Pit Village you can see how families in the coal-mining communities in the North East used to live in the early 1900s.

 

The Beamish Board School came from nearby East Stanley. Up to 200 pupils could have been taught in the three classrooms that have been rebuilt at the Museum.
