London Midland & Scottish Railway - The Country of the Bronte Sisters, booklet c1925

The LMS Railway, in common with the other railway companies, were enthusiastic promoters of travel opportunities in their areas and issued many booklets and pamphlets. This is one of the less common LMS ones covering the "Bronte Country" situated in the West Riding of Yorkshire and served by the Calder Valley line and the now preserved Keighley and Worth Valley branch. The booklet also stretches the 'Country" north into Lunesdale and south to Derbyshire. The valley scene is by J W Broadrick - an artist who appears to have produced postcards for the Photocrom Company who printed this guide for the LMSR.
